Why every client gets a portal

On the difference between a deliverable and a dashboard, and why we built one before we had a client.

By Crucible Media

Most agencies hide the work. You sign the contract, they post things, you see your feed, you wait for the monthly slide deck.

We think that’s a structural mistake. The reason is simple: when the work is hidden, the only feedback loop is the report, and reports are written to make the agency look good. The client and the agency are looking at different documents.

So we built a client portal before we had a client. It shows you, in one place:

  • The week’s content calendar — every post, with one-click approval
  • The actual engagement numbers, refreshed live, not assembled into a slide
  • Every comment we’ve replied to, with the reply visible
  • A direct line to the account team — not a ticket queue

The point isn’t that we’re brave for showing this. The point is that if we’re not willing to show it, we shouldn’t be charging for it.

You can open the demo desk right now — login demo@cruciblemedia.ca / demo123. It’s the same portal a real client would use.
